Every body have selling skills.  A child want money for entertainment from his mother, the way he puts his request is the key for his success.  But Selling Skill in business are some thing which are acquired through experience, through training and practice. To determine the customers needs and wants a sales person has to learn some psychological theories which he learns from reading.  He learns statistical methods, Demographics and their dissection, he learns the techniques of presenting himself, he learns how to start and how to conclude his discussion.  No one is Sale Man by birth rather he acquires the skills with the experience and training.

As a Human Resource Manager , I have a strong belief that SKILLS CAN BE TAUGHT provided the person has a RIGHT ATTITUDE.

Yes, if he wants to be better he can.  Through training, coaching and education he can definetly become a good salesman provided that he wants to improve and provided that he knows his weaknesses and is working on them.

Knowledge and hardwork are the base of success, so traning and coaching can get you knowledge, but hardwork? Thats an inner drive, which will take that person too long in life and career.

A person with low sales skill can work wonders if he or she has the right attitude coupled with hardworking capability, persuasiveness, and relationship building skills, which is imperative for any sales person.

Yes sure a better training can modify the salesman behavior and skills.  In my career i have seen so many guys who came in IT company selling solutions now,  who are not even know about how to sell the box of the computer.  The environment, training, pressure of numbers can sure develop anybody despite not having natural talent.

Training can modify the minds of salesman and the selling skills.....
