Public relations provides a "possible" market where the brand is sold, but Brand name, comes from
A) Service for the product ( Pre & Post Sales services)
B) Quality of the service or product
C) Determination to create the "possbile market" in "materialized market"
according to me quality is the primary thing but public relations too performs a very vital role in aspect of building a strong brand name. it depends on how famous you are in public so that they can follow whatever you say or atleast give it a try.
Brand equity, or the value of brand in the eyes of its public, relies heavily upon public relations to maintain customer loyalty. Achieving strong brand equity can take years of work and maintenance, but along with good products and other marketing tasks, public relations efforts is the best way to maintain strong brand equity. Public relations utilizes various media to spread good news about a brand and enhance public opinion.
If public relations campaigns are successful, brand equity, familiarity and company loyalty improve.
Many of the replies are not matched with the question sorry guys, how can we utilize the public relations to make brand name? According to me Public relation build brand when we will educate our peers and dears, when we discuss brand to them, when we will share our experience, and now a days this is very simple to do because of social media and by this way brand identity will more strong if it is discusing on social media and it also will affect the offline as words of mouth.
I think strong brand names don't need public relations or anything else but your product's quality.
If you 100 % trust your product, it will markets itself easily.
So my advice is to foucous on your quality. that's it.
