Is the universe expanding or are we just able to observe more of it?

The universe is expanding and will keep expanding forever.

It was measured that the electromagnetic spectrums of  stars in all the observed gallaxies(except for close ones) are shifted (red shift as a consequence of doppler effect), indicating that those gallaxies are moving away from us. this fits Enistein's general theory of relativity, specially when the shift was so high indicating that the gallaxies are moving at speeds greater than the speed of light which meant (with other evidences of course) that there's a production of space-time in the universe. so the universe is expanding by producing more space.
