How can an individual get bank finance against shares without losing the dividend that the shares may offer ?

Some banks do provide finance against shares .Even to retail customers who may be owning high valued shares of a company. What are the rules. Does the bank take over the shares ?

An individual can apply for financing by pledging the shares and will be beneficial for the dividend and this is a practice but only a few bank apply it.
