No doubt, Manufacturing is more challanging as compared to any other field. Because target dates are fixed and in any case you have to meet the same .In manufacturing we face every day new issues, problems and one has to manage against all these odds.

No it isn't. While this is an old question, I still wanted give my opinion.

In manufacturing, it is much easier to reduce errors to negligible levels and achieve a high process sigma level (six and beyond) because manufacturing processes tend to be more linear than service provision.

Dealing with machines is much more straight forward (linear) than dealing with humans, and deals with far less variations as well.

You will rarely purchase defective products, but defective services are quite common.

One thing that is challenging in manufacturing is dealing with the competition because of the high quality standards that is possible in manufacturing, but not possible with services.

Yes as the manufacturing industry faces numerous challenges in today’s marketplace. The four most significant challenges are dealing with intense global competition, finding and keeping skilled labor, handling cost pressures, and adapting to different consumer needs.
