I personally believe that PR and Marketing is something we do everyday knowing or unknowingly. We sell ourselves to people we meet, we act as mediators when we come across people quarreling or fighting. We need PR and Marketing to be more structured and professional because as with all profession we have set rules guiding every profession. PR has to be done by someone with the right knowledge, while marketing has to be done the right way because it involves a lot including, strategy, implementation, planning, sales, product, price etc.
For Social Media, i want to say a lot of times organisations do not need the help of outside agencies but this is a matter of choice as it can be handled in house. Even though some organisations outsource their PR to agencies they also have PR units or departments who work with the outsourced agency to ensure the organisation to properly represented.
I would like to follow all expert answers.
Agencies are the powerful thing that connects all aspects of social life. Everyone use that information. And the subject of work of PR, marketing and social media is social life itself... so, you think
Thank you for your invitation Divyesh.
Outsourcing is a great way of minimising costs, overheads, time and resources within a specific organisation. The larger the organisation the more effective outsourcing can be. Agencies tend to have a more wider connection with people of different target audience therefore the use of them as a medium will increase visability and raise awareness of the organisation. In regards to PR, Marketing and social media they are often well established in those areas providing the right agency is chosen (well known reputation) therefore using them will expand the opportunities of the organisation of reaching an unexpected target audience. I believe the majority of well developed and stable organisations use agencies to reach potential audience and broaden their parameters eliminating restrictions and limitations to their targets and goals. However with that being said, it's not necessary to outsource agencies to do a job if you have the right amount of skills, talents and expertise within the organisation the only compromise is time. Social media is risky approach if it lands in the wrong hands of agencies or personel therefore proceeding with caution is vital. Information can often be misinterpreted on social media sites which can affect the reputation of an organisation and or consumer base, there are pros and cons to using third parties.
Agreed with the answers to colleagues
It is joint work with inside the company's public relation ,marketing advertising department, their are some plans can't be done along with the inside employee's of the company, their must be a consultation from an expertise agencies in their campaigns or what so ever
As for Social media, yes with good training there is no need to use outside help.
I think we would not be as educated about news in other countries ... lesser known items and medicines.
Consumer and Marketing issues would more at the local level and not international .. perhaps a simpler world
Thanks for the invitation
