Setting salaries to sales people or other employees comes as a result of the total company budget setting and targets and expense sheet. as the sales people are the main source of the income or revenues that will satisfy the total expense budget and produce profits or even loss. I am confident that the salary is not a main objective to a successful sales person and the incentives and moral achievement and career building in a secure environment is. So it is not about salary setting it is about choosing the right candidate and managing and leading the team to success
in a sales team, salary is nominal, it is the incentive that they are gaining is teir benefit... so it is up to the management team that, how they would make team and let the team to play their role....
and it is ofcourse, the incentive is not based on the customer, it is based on the sales, we will ask them to make a schedule of customers they have met with and and monthly or bi-weekly the sales manager has to refer the list of customers and ensure the customers with after-sales service and the one which still are not the customers, would be contacted again by him with a more professional manner with the presence of the sales executive...., I think it will work out
