We outsource out maintenance actvities. We agree with the maintenance contractor on the performance measures to be implemented during the contract period. These are mainly response time to our calls, implementation of the preventive maintenance plan, & down time due to poor maintenance.

in an Elctricity Distribution Company, there are four indices which givean overall picture about the effectiveness of maintainance of the system.1 SAIDI( System Average Interuption Duration Index),2. SAIFI( Average Interuption Frequency),3. CAIDI( Consumer Average Interuption Duration)4. CAIFI(Consumer Average Interuption Frequency Index)
by using preventive actions as a regular maintenance and corrective actions if there is any deviation.
The evaluation of the maintenance department is based on its pre developed CSF & KPI's so that its easy to evaluate the performance when you have a standard threshold of excellent good and bad performance.
There are many factors which need to be evaluate in order to baseline a maintenance department. It will be a long writing.
