The management of a school is different from other organizations in several ways. A few important things I would like to mention here are:
1. It is service in reality and not a business.
2. Sensitive due to involvement of children.
3. Client in this case is bifurcated (student & parents).
4. It's a creative organization and the management have to prove its ability to create leaders of the future.
5. It's more challenging than other prouction organizations as you have only virtual control over your product (student).
i think school management is hard because you are managing teens
in the same time you are managing and developing the future for all of this kidz and thier familes
in the same time creating the future for your country
What is different here is the nature of the "business model" itself being centered around the concept of "teaching/learning" with all its methodologies, techniques and tools that are specific to the education discipline. What is also different here is the definitition of the key stakeholders where we include the students and in many cases their parents/families among the stakeholders. Lastly, schooling and school management is a well regulated industry where "licenses" are needed to be able to operate. A high-level governance/compliance scheme is also required to excel in all aspects of school management and at all levels starting with the owners, board of directors, trusetees, teaching faculty, adminin/support staff, ... etc.
since schools deal with students, management bit different
School Management can be cosidered as MECHANISTIC form of management where no frequent changes are required, or it can be a centalized powered form of management.
Corporate Management can be considered as ORGANIC form of mangement where frequent changes, analysis is required and the power of management is distributed to many channels.
MECHANISTIC MANAGEMENT examples : Educational Insitutions, Schools
ORGANIC MANAGEMENT examples : Google, Apple, LG, Samsung etc.
yes, school management is like services industry, the end product you have to produce is disiplined , organised students, so its tuff job any way.
