Dear Ahmed,

rarely I found myself observing situations in which the problem was sum 'linear' of individual problems. In MEP systems the interferences  between hardware problems (p.e.: valve malfuncion) and  problems on the systems of regulation and control (p.e.: PID malfuncion) creates non-linear condition that require different analysis tools. So, my idea is that the superposition principle is applicable in condition in which the maintenances problems are always similar nature (p.e.: mechanics).

Dear Eng. ahmed fathy

To be honest, I may use this way in some tight situation when I have to make critical descion that delay or incorrect action may lead to fatal loss.
