3 Phase motors have very good power factor as compared to single phase. Due to this reason 3 phase motors on produce less reactive power which is mostly cause of loss in kind money. The other benefit is , there is no use of capacitor for starting 3 phase motors while 1 phase have. 3 phase motors are more energy efficient for larger capacities.
