What do you say of lying in the workplace?

Lying does happen in the workplace for all sorts of reasons. Some even talk of white lies. Sometimes, some managements lie to employees, bosses to subordinates, employees to customers, etc. Some tell you that lying is unavoidable. What do you think?

Lies are lies ... and remain to be lies despite all cosmetics and/or justifications.

Lying is telling someone something that is NOT true or valid.  Hence, it could be of disasterous impact to those who believe these lies and act accordingly.

It is better to decline giving any info or answering any question if this leads to telling lies.  I personally cannot see any problem in saying .. " I will NOT answer this question", "Allow me to decline giving misleading information",  "Next question please" and/or any other expression which indicates the rejection of the idea of telling lies from the start.

Of course nobody likes to lie but we all do. It's unevitalbe in some point of your life to tell a lie. The serious and unacceptable thing though is to use it as a weapon to hurt someone. A person's profession, reputation, relationship etc. This is immoral and it shows the character of the person who did it. Moreover, greater and obscene lies are being told to nations from their "leaders" about so many things involving their future in general. Those lies are the biggest and also bad-intentioned because the leaders already know the truth and they want to mislead their people. That's the worst lies ever!

Lies are lies rather than any kind.if once tell a lie at workplcae or anywhere it will put you in more trouble in future because for once you lie will keep you continue to cover up and you may lose the task for what you lie and would not be able to overcome.

To answer this question Mr. Patel, Let me share the Article " shocking Truths about lying" of Forbes.com.

According to the article Workplace lying is a far more widespread issue and it is taking place in offices around the world. Whether it’s to avoid an awkward social situation (“That shirt looks great”), to escape blame (“I never received the email”), or to satisfy our personal agenda (“I can’t talk right now, I have a huge deadline”), our minds attempt to excuse lies with reasoning. As we become better at creating false justifications, we blur the lines between right and wrong and allow lies to become a regular aspect of everyday life.

a company has its vision and probably has a mission to achive the goals

Lying or showing no dedication can become hurdles for an organization to achive its goals

i believe the people lying should be identified and if its serious then the employee should be fired. This will be an eyeopener for other employees and others will think10 times before they even think of lying or commiting a crime

Lies is a quickest way to break a bond of trust between people. Once you lose that trust, it's very hard to gain the trust back.

Employees lie to cover up job performance issues or as a means of career advancement.
