If your answer is Yes, then please explain as How Social Media Impacts Google Organic Search?
Interesting discussion! All valid points!
Both have their uses and both have their limitations.
I have worked on a campaign where Social media was the best option available. If you are planning on re-creating your Brand Identity, or bringing the Brand Image closer to the Brand Identity you sought for originally, or wish to make your Brand easier/more approachable Social Media is the answer. SEO will not do anything in this scenario.
Social Media signals do help in Google SERPs. Twitter NO LONGER has an effect.
Although a bit late to answer this question strangely this question is actually now more relevant than when it was posted.
Your first goal should be driving organic traffic. But since Google has altered its algorithm, social media now plays an important role in bringing the traffic.
How? Google is now using social media performance of your accounts as social signals. This gives an impression to Google that your accounts are trustworthy and genuine.
But this does not give social media an upper hand over organic method. The later will always be the first performance indicator for Google.
It is better you focus first on getting good organic traffic and then try to amplify the performance using social media
No. Organic result is more important to get a lot of traffic and social media important to engage with your audience. Hence, the organic result is more valuable than social sites.
