In most cases any company should have a reasearch center or department which can carry out the development and innovations this can be achieved by hiring professionalsand researchers who are dedicated to overlook and discover by bringing new ideas to their company,

1. By having a dedicated department for R&D if the company is heavily reliant on technology or innovation.2. By keeping a keen eye on industry trends, standards, competitors and holding regular meetings surrounding innovation3. By promoting a "participatory business culture" encouraging creativity, brainstorming, continuous learning, excellent internal communication & training.4. By building and nurturing good relations with cross-functional partners and other industry sectors.5. By hiring the professionals and and creative talents in diversified disciplines.6. R&D and/or having a Creative Department can keep an organization doing innovation by always introducing new product even if it's just an MVP or minimum viable product. As long as there's fuel for creativeness and enguinity to each member involved, then later on...if the product click, then monitize it!

I agree with all points mentioned. On a granular level, my2 cents:1. Hire the right people. Ensure you have a mix of both left brained and right brained individuals.2. Spark conversations/discussions with the teams, this should stimulate ideas. Having 'non alike' thinking would invite thoughts from a vast spectrum.3. Recognise , reward and appreciate the team.4. Be candid and ensure the team has all the right resources to think, work and plan.5. Engage the team. For example:You could also alot times where they are free to devote time doing something creative (google has a5th day 'free day' and a major chunk of their innovative products comes from this slit!

Companies must innovate in order to keep ahead of their competitors. If an organisation wants to create a business strategy that keeps it at the forefront of innovation, it must develop ways of making that strategy work.

 

Being innovative does not just involve using the expertise of market researchers, and product developers to create new products. It also involves using the capabilities of everyone within an organisation to generate the processes that help the new product to reach the market quickly and efficiently.

Good Day!

The R&D department has the core responsibility to do so. 

To keep the innovation flow there should be a system to arrange regular brain-storming sessions on certain given tasks.

The creative & out of the box thinkers should be marked for further new assignment.

Fresh blood (new appointees) should be regularly induced in the department to replace the dead-woods.
