Usually, attrition is managed at the planning phsae by controlling the workloads assigned to team members. if the situation imposed increasing the workloads, ensure that there is an agreed upper limit and staff are forced to rest after that to come back fresh.
Continuous attrition is obvious be deteriorating performance levels and increasing mistakes.
by motivation and day off every period of time, the risky rate I take it from the producation rate for each employee.
if you have the enough experience to deal with work and human, you can avoid attrition.
In the competitive market attrition become a common issue to the organizations. I face this since I started managing projects. I keep people feel motivated, challenged and respected within the team as well as propose for promotions so that the team members like their job and don't look for jobs outside... However I also grow backups for the key technical positions so that we don't suffer if the key resource leaves the project due to hot market outside (attractive salary, higher positions, etc..)
