After applied, my ranking based on relevancy is 1 of 331 but still employer didn't contact me. Is this usual? What is your experience with employers?

Dear Tereza, This happens every where, don't worry it is normal practice.
You need to focus on the following points to attract employers:1.
CV format and content (I can share my CV with you).2.
Content of Cover letter.
Here is how to write a cover letter; http://jobsearch.about.com/od/coverletters/a/aa030401a.htm I wish you all the best.

CV relevancy is purely keyword based, i feel.
Go ahead with a good coverpage, it helps, forget the relevancy, it is left there to make you happy.

Dear Tereza, I think recruiters have a certain parameters in mind, as they will start to check the candidates list they will first make filters containing their preferences "The Parameters", and apply it on the candidates list such as age, nationality, residence, certain skills, years of experience, software, and many others In such cases you might not be seen in their filtered list even if your ranking was No#1 Hope this can give you an answer to your question Maher

Hi Tereza, It is quite often happens to all and to me.
Employer's view is not as we think a social view but a commercial view of approach.
In this particular view he might have found any point better than you in somebody else.
Business is based on pushing the agenda of a firm which manifest in its activities.
There is no point to say good business or bad business but the focuss is based on profitability and the down fall of its competitor for which it takes everything.

Hi Teresa,

Ranking and Relevance are two different things, even as much as they may seem synonymous.

Both these measures are calculated based on some sort of classification algorithm. Ranking is based on a kind of weightage your CV has over others for a particular job. Relevance is the likelihood of how relevant/contextual the CV is for that particular job. It depends on the content and keywords used in the CV. Even if your ranking is #1, it is the relevance (probability) that will probably decide make-or-break.

Interesting to note here is that Bayt has a paid service that allows you to 'boost' your ranking to the top of the applicant pool. However, no such thing for relevance! Hope you get it.Thanks.
