Professional qualification has an edge as it comes with an area of specialization.
In real terms it has to be the professional qualification, it's the difference between theory and practical, academic qualification says "yes you are clever", professional qualification says "yes you can do the job"!
EVERY THING COUNTS WHEN YOU PLACE YOURSELF IN THE SLIPPERY GROUND OF PROFESSIONALISM.
Both are equally importantm and we need to get both inorder to get success in life.
Both. I agree with what my friends said about the importance of the professional qualifications, but it may not work if you changed the job or the career, and in this case the academic qualification arise.
Both complement each other and both are needed to excel.
When I started off my career I was a software developer and I had acquired both my Bsc. and Msc. in computer science. That was suitable and my academic knowledge helped me at my work and then I gained new skills and experience. But when I started going up the hierarchy and became more involved in strategic management I realized I need more academic knowledge related to business and management. Yes I learnt a lot on the job and gained experience and skills and learnt from my mistakes too but I felt I needed to support this with academic knowledge and this why I acquired my MBA. Professional experience alone is not enough and academic knowledge only is not enough, they support each other.
Professional qualification has an edge as it comes with an area of specialization. It is alsnto important for career point of view.
