In a cutthroat world of layoffs, downsizing and unemployment, it’s important for job seekers over40 to stay one step ahead of the game. Though jobseekers over the age of40 often face a different set of challenges than their younger counterparts, they also bring a lot to the table.

The Biggest Challenges for Job Seekers Over40

  1. Higher Compensation Demands

  2. Social Networking and Technology Deficits

  3. Family Obligations

  4. Being “Overqualified”

The Strongest Assets Job Seekers Over40 Have to Offer

  1. Workers over40 are very educated

  2. They are committed to doing quality work

  3. They bring patience, expertise, maturity and stability

  4. They have great experience

  5. They bring good connections to an employer

  6. They are great mentors

  7. Turnover rates are lower among workers over40

  8. They’re not gaining experience just to move on to another employer

Over40s should not switch  the career because it will be very hectic to compete with younger s.  Overs40s must try to do a start-up for them rather then looking for the jobs around. And also over40s should not search for the entry jobs since they might get rejected for overqualified.
