I fully agree with the previous comments. Just want to add

  • Internet is used more by young people who are more tecn savvy.
  • There is a rural urban divide.
  • This divide is more apparant in the developing world where many villages may not have24 hours electricity with out a load shedding let alone internet. Computers need electricity to function.

The three main differences are:

  1. Targeted Reach which is the most important difference where the level of specificity in reaching your target audience can be optimized to as many parameters as you want. This is hard to achieve with the generic mass media approach. 
  2. Budget: Mass Media needs massive investment comparing to internet marketing by example where you can run a campaign at a cost that is almost10% of how much print media campaign can cost. 
  3. Tracking: It’s easy to monitor and track the interaction with internet and digital media comparing to print media efforts.

I agree with what most of you guys mentioned before, yet i must highlight these3 as well:

1. It can be used as a direct tool for listening to customers, and sometimes can help by doing an online surveys in a minimal cost (Just like having a celebrity ask a question about something on his social network)

2. It's reachable on a personal scale and can be tracked more easily for insights about the market.

3. It's the fastest evolving medium amongst them all, and its becoming more interconnected with our outside life (Just like having an Android operating system in some of the new cars being produced)
