I agreed witu You. All mentioned type of maintenence I have successfully implemented in Ethylene Plant, for three Turnarounds, Libiya Ras Lanuf.

maintenance could be waste of time unless the planner has efficient strategy and deep understanding for the following:

1-turnaround the required task to under stand the required tools,materials,working hours,work steps and also studying the O&M books .

2-shut down is necessary if there is big change in the method of work or manufacturing ,if shut down will carried  a large scheduling efforts will be engaged together for several departments in order to handle the maintenance during the shut down special feed back team must be exciting to help focusing on the work which is going on during the maintenance  

3-maintenance  is divided into three basic categories(preventive ,corrective,periodic) and one special category is(predictive)
