Dear Ms Dana, We have many books on Control, but if you are interested in easy to read books then I found this one "Industrial Process Control: Advances and Applications -By Ghodrat Kalani".
Also there are some interesting sites where you can learn more about PID controls as http://dexautomation.com/ps/ http://www.controlloopfoundation.com/index.aspx Well I am myself not process expert but process enthusiast.
