Just you do to a baby, one has to nurture the customer
We provide the baby with the best/ purest food, dress it up in the best quality clothes which dont hurt it or damage its skin, hold its hand for it to walk and sing sweet lullabyes for it to sleep in peace
Todays customer demands the same treatment- In Gandhijis words- “A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is doing us a favour by giving us the opportunity to do so.”
customers nowdays are very smart, very picky, have great sense of direction and analytical skills, most customers are well educated customers,if you don't treat them this way you will loose them .
i don't see how to treat them like a baby ,a baby is someone who doesn't have any accountability on his actions and is regarded as an ignorant to some degree.
i do understand your point in term of pampering customers, this might be true, but i believe that is not what they are after.
Yes customers should be always treated with utmost care. We should slowly build the relationship by giving timely and needed services. In my opinion always sale a solution to the customer rather than selling him the product.
you know whenever a customer steps in your store / branch or your company it means he already chose you so, how come you will find your self dealing with him in a very bad maner can you forgive yourself later , if you met him angerly or treated him badly
Customers are Sensible .. Mature. And They Know all the brands.. if they dont know.. Shopping Malls Makes easy for them ;) To View alll the brands.. And they compare...
The customers nowadays are, though not completely but still much more aware of what they are looking for and how things would go about when dealing with any organisation. this is due to the wide availability of resources and know how. most of the times when you treat customer as a person who doesnt know anything or by a sense that he/she is new to the subject, they too start treating you as an immetured person. there are three types of customers i have seen throughout my little experience:
1.10% of customers know90% in and out of the matter what they are going to deal with.
2.80% -85% of them know50 -60 % of what they are dealing with
3.5% or less of them just knows what they want but they are not aware about what they are really getting into.
If you are directly dealing with the customer ,upfront or over the phone andthe customer is irate and yelling at you it does calm your nerves if you think he is illogical like a baby. Now just as a parent would care for a baby you hear him/herout and try to give a solution to the problem to the best of your ability and if it suits the customer he may be loyal to ur brand.
Only new customers can be treated as a baby. Baby places important role in business life cycle
