I agree with your observation Amer. Some contributions and discussions are so engaging, you wish some contributors will always take part to add something to your knowledge, even if opinion based.

Remarks and suggestions:

  1. Bayt.com is not entirely a social network but a job site with some social (professional) networking features, compared to say LinkedIn. Active private communication is discouraged between members (for business model related reasons). That's the set up of Bayt.com now and strategies may evolve with time.
  2. Bayt.com is a Q&A job site forum + a "social network" in one. A clear separation may prove more engaging if the job-site character is not harmed.
  3. Notification system: I would suggest a more intelligent notification member-engagement system for Bayt.com allowing for instance full notification of comments (not only notification of comments to your answers and questions but also of comments to your comments).
  4. Clearer visual display of comments to questions. Comments are the discussion-part of this forum and a thriving forum is characterized by a so-called "thread". The thread on Bayt.com is hidden + does not call for attention because of the light-grey small font color. (Why not include a hover menu that show comments of the mouse is placed on them for a first glance"
  5. There is no clear separation of specialty-related and non-specialty related questions, other than using tags. I bet many members are put off by this and will contribute more if they feel a question asks for their very specialization or that their answer will distinguish them fairly within their specialization.
  6. There is no clear credit-based reward based for answers to OTHER than the5 chosen specialties. The result of this is that when a member reaches a high rank, he will logically be less motivated to take part in other interesting questions that don't include his specialty.
  7. "Needs you expertise" notifications are removed from the notification drop-down-menu! I only realized2 months later that I have been invited to answer many questions because I was only notified per email and all Bayt.com emails go to a certain folder in my email.
  8. Has Bayt ever thought of allowing members to create a MINI BLOG about themselves ON Bayt itself? Imagine the richness of content (SEO + Social Media Sharing) and the degree of engagement (User generated content other than answers)

Good Day!!!

I agreed, BAYT is becoming a social network for professionals....... people come, gives comments, arguments, sahre ideas, give advices and then they leave............

I think we should also understand the reality that most of us joins BAYT as jobseekers, may be they become demotivated on not been offered a job?

another reason might be the alck of appropriate specialty (to my opinion) ...... e.g, i like to participate in "PHARMACEUTICAL SALES" specialty........ but i didn't much people interested in this.

Sometimes, I do feel the same. I think we can encourage each other by adding comments and voting the questions and answers.

Pretty much agree with Mr. Ahmed, I do miss alot of people as such Steve, Venera, Khatim etc. However I've been very inactive myself due to work. The main reason why most people use bayt.com is not as a social platform but to find better employment. Hope everyone reaches their decent objectives insha Allah. :)

I agree that it is becoming a social network for professionals and I do miss some participants. On the other hand, this is typical for social networks. People participate when they feel they want to.

I am relatively new to Bayt Specialties ... I hope I build good relaions with colleagues and friends and we maintain these relations.    But it is also a normal thing for some people to just disappear from the scene temporarily or permanently
