It’s a surprise to most people to know that Apple's first logo, designed by Ron Wayne, depicts Sir Isaac Newton sitting under an apple tree.
Almost immediately late in 1976, though, this was replaced by Rob Janoff's "rainbow Apple". The rainbow colors were dropped and a monochrome logo was used since 1998.
