Which utility or command is being used for checking your hard drive for bad sectors?

Run a command prompt as adimistrator, then type chkdsk (check disk utility) :

chkdsk [volume:] [[path] filename] /Parameter (/F /R /X...)

These Partameters can used wit the chkdsk command in dos :

/ R

Detects bad sectors and recovers readable information. The disk must be locked

/ F

Corrects the errors on the disk. The disk must be locked. If chkdsk can not lock the drive, a message appears asking if you want to check the drive the next time the computer starts.

chkdsk.exe .... or u can do it from GUI go to my computer >> choose the drive u wanna check then right click it >> properties >> go to tools tab >>> check now
