I think lack of knowledge/use of latest technology is the biggest factor. With technology growing so fast, company would rather train a junior employee for a long term rather than older employee who is over age.
Other factors are:
will sometime because of company policy and sometime generalization that says people over50 they cannot Adapted with new things Quickly for instance software and technology.
Less of energy of old people and they are seeking job in a suitable organization.
Lets put this question in reverse manner, do employer prefer a16 year old candidate for a Brand Maanger job?? defeintly NO so similalry why they prefer a55 year old Brand Manager? every job has its own requirement (physically and intellect) level so we have to bring the most of it!
because they have less to offer to the company
Because they have difficulties to accept any offer, according to their huge expertice.
Generally speeking older than 50 years old becomes less energy, short term workers, however some of them are more effecient and of course more experience.
I believe most of them works as a consultants.
i think the old man or we can say everyone over50 the company have to Benefit from their experience to manage the companies with their experience from there experiment but the young they have creative ideas
that's way they need new people or young people ,, to get competition advantage on others
Most time they looking for the young.
