Nowadays, companies to succeed and diversify need both managers and leaders qualities to be available in the same persons of their management team.
However, for a manager to lead a leader, he must be an innovator, inspiring, developer, team builder, focusing on people, originator, challenger, motivator, and tolerating risk.

Generally, Managers do not lead a Leader.
A Leader can delagate authority, to a Manager to lead in specific areas where that manager has a special set of skills , which the Leader may lack.
BUT, this is all dependant on the style of leadership the designated Leader uses, plus the culture of the organisation.
