What’s the most probable cause of this issue?

I've just upgraded a computer from2GB of RAM to4GB. Now when I power the system on, the computer beeps but no messages are displayed on the screen.

If you bought it checked as OK from the vendor, then it's a slot issue switch the RAMs one-by-one on to the slots see if they gets a perfect match

it is the new RAM not compatible. but if u r sure it's compatible then remove the RAM clean it & put it again & try >>>>>>>> if it still beebing with no data >>>> the new ram is damaged

it the added ram which are not compable with the Pc.....Solution is First Check the speed of the existing Ram then get the simillar ones with higher spects for upgrade

there are to posibilites 

1. RAM is not fit in its slot properly

2. RAM is not Compatible with already instaled RAM

RAM is not fit in its slot correctly. It can physically demage the mother board as well.

Faulty Memory Module or you did not reset the BIOS after installing the module.
