what I think is that industrial engineering has more opportunities at master level then mechanical engineering because industrial engineering covers most subjects of mechanical plus production, accounting, marketing and material management
Dear Ameer,
Potential does not depend on a course. It rather depends on how much potential you have, your field of interest and how can you excel in that field... Before choosing either mech engg or ind engg, ask yourself what are you interested in? After this have a goal/plan to make yourself "The Best" in that field... Success & other perks will automatically follow
mechanical engineer
I will vote for the industrial engineering.
Normally Industrial Engineering is one specialization available under Master degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering.
if you can suggest one more available specialization under Mech, then something can be compared.
But irrespective of it I feel both are good in terms of potential and opportinities and actually more options are available to someone who is from Mech background. But again a Mech graduate can't be a substitute of someone with PG in IE.
