my be but not with the current switching features it should have more options to can provide the same performance of routers foe EX NAT. it is just an opinion

No ,But Who knows the rate at which technology is progressing there might be a hybrid equipment which supports both the functions of Routers & Switches

No switch cant because router have more features then switch e.g NAT..., but MPLS can replace routers...
