Depends on viscosity of the syrup, positive displacement pumps for syrup and molasses is common in sugar factories.

Having a good breakfast Having3-4 meals at regular intervals in small potions Avoiding soft drinks, icecreams etc

Depends on the degree (severity) of the diabetes.    However, I am totally against artifical sweeteners
