What is the maximum time allowed for payment if documents submitted under sign L/C? Can we hold the documents till arrival of vessel for retirement?‎

Laden on board: Goods on boarded but ship is yet to sail. Shipped on board: Goods on boarded and the actual ship is sailing.

Laden on board means goods have been boarded but shipment is yet to happen,Whereas shipped on board means the actual shipment has been happened.
