The ITIL service lifecycle is non-linear in design since it has many feedback loops throughout all its phases.

ITIL-based service lifecycle is non-linear in design.  This non-lnearity is due to the existence of multiple feeback loops within the ITIL service model allowing free and unrestricted flow of feedback information in any stage and any phase of the model.  It is also due to monitoring, assessment and corretive/improvement action taking dependent on the feedback flow within the model !

 

 The  ITILService  Lifecycle  is  non-linear  in design. At every  point  inthe  Service Lifecycle,  monitoring, assessment  and  feedbackflows between  each stage  of the  lifecycle  which  drivedecisions  about  the  need  for  minor  course  corrections  ormajor service improvement  initiatives. The  following figureillustrates  some  examples of the  continual feedbacksystem  built into  the  ITIL  Service Lifecycle.
