Not most of the time but yes it is possible at case to case basis when a customer is looking for options and more choices.

The moment of Truth is when the customer is face to face with the sales person 

The kind of confidence that ozzes out of the sales person makes the customer trust  that this product / Service is good for him 

The sales person is confident only when he knows his product well and also understands the customer requirement 

Yes the sales person dose play a role in making a customer accept a product / serivice 

It doesn’t matter how skillful you are but you can’t sell a “comb” to a bald person unless you tell him it will make his hair grow
