Who is the "true" / "effective" manager ? Or rather , how do we recognize a "true" / "effective" manager and differentiate them from others in the crowd holding the same position/title ?? In a more positive way .. and this is a question for managers as well as for corporates who have scores of these so-called "managers" . How do you know if such managers are worth their title ? and they are true and effective managers ? and . How can we help these managers and the corporates employing these managers to overcome their deficits and become truly effective managers . I have my answer to this .. but would like to hear your views first !
if you are dealing with a company where it feels that everything is flowing with ease, simple, easy and accurate without noticeable effort, you can conclude that this company is being managed by an effective and effecient manager and staff.
if you catch a flight ,you start and arrive while everything is smooth and feels effortless, this would suggest that the pilots, crew, and everyone envolved are well managed by an effective manager or management system where errors are minimized greatly, and if any arise they are well trained and managed to resolve and deal with it swiftly and professionaly without you noticing it.
an effective manager is also an efficient manager.
If the organization has clear understanding of "effectiveness" of manager, the company will get "true" managers. I believe "an effective manager" has satisfied team who is trusting its manager as custodian of his growth and career, they understand the rationale behind his decision and trust as one of the best and right way to follow him. At the management level, when the one-up believe his reportee manager as the best resource who is using the best approach to yield best/optimal result under the provided circumstances and resources. if manager has reputation of a trusted person in all circumstances, would be term as true manager and leader.
Their is not a tumb rule but this is what practially i think ..
Manager who manages the situation and know the art to deal the crises and keep the enivroment stress free and not to create the problem in the system.
Also Good managers keeps their work force motivated and use their expertise by showing the trust on them by making them accountable . and moreover good managers developed interpersonal relationship with their subordinates .
real manager who wouls have the same attention of the company owner , would care about every little detail to grow up with the company to reduce cost or increase production , or saving in purchasing . writing every little details to discuss it with evey employeer to go forward ..
