Dear Siraj,
Getting a job is always tough, no matter which country you're looking to work in. UAE being a cosmopolitan has both advantages and disadvantages in seeking employment. In UAE there is a wide variety of fields to move into and the turnaround of employment is also rapid. But in many places there is also a lot of favoritism and discrimination caused by so many nationalities all approaching the same vacancy.
But this is also true that getting a job mostly depends on your qualifications and experience. If you are looking a job in IT field or in hospitality field, then it's a bit difficult as there is a great deal of competition for jobs within these fields.
So the best I can say is keep on trying as employee turnover is huge in UAE and whenever a vacancy appears, it needs to be filled as quickly as possible.
Trying to find a position in UAE has been a daunting task where you have to use many websites and contact countless agencies
Here is a guide by me for how to find job in UAE including list of UAE based recruitment companies:
1- You have to know everything about working in UAE just by visitng the Department of Labor - UAE www.mol.gov.ae
2- you can browse the Internet, online local newspapers or contact recruitment agencies. If you have friends or relatives in the country, do not hesitate to ask for help and advice.
3- Add your CV to the websites of all the UAE recruiters.
4- Make a list of the companies you'd like to work for, check their websites to see if there are any jobs listed on their careers section that you could apply for. If not, still upload your CV or email it to their HR departments.
5- Have an updated and comprehensive Linkedin profile.
6- Join all the relevant Linkedin groups for your industry. Many recruiters also have Linkedin groups where they post vacancies.
7- Network, network, network
8- Have a look at the classifieds sections on the newspapers. This approach would not work too much in my case, but it could still work for other types of jobs.
9- Do not be afraid to make lots of phonecalls
NOTE: Prepare a good CV. Update it regularly. SPELL CHECK IT! If your writing skills are not great, ask a friend to proof read it for you.
