What value do consulting firms add to an operation?

i belive they add substantial value.

being an outsider expert,analyzing the company's performance and problems is much easier when done by an outsider.

i have been delivering excellent results to outside firms while really sometimes struggle to solve in house problems.

you must of course posses excellent communication,business,analytical skills.

Consulting means performance , once you have consulting firms working with you , means you want to improve the output of your efforts and teams to the satisfied results with quality reference to the indicators that you are looking to target .
Useless to have consulting teams working with you without adding values to the out put efforts , in the middle east area such in Saudi Arabia , consulting means human resources while in USA and Europe means improving performance with quality output .
