Yes it is simply a case of finding a "common" language to make communicating between different nationalities so much easier. It was muted once that a single language be developed. "Esperanto" I think, but that never materialised. English has become, by default, a common language used mainly in business and looks on track to be "that" universal language However it should be stated that this is no reflection on any other language, nationality or culture, it has just "happened" that way it could have easily been Arabic, Chinese, French or A.N.Other!

It would widen your contacts directly and communicating will be more cost and time effective. Knowledge has no boundaries and learning any language for that sake will be adding to personal treasure of knowledge.

You are not wrong, I am an Arabic and talking Arabic Language. And thank you so much for answering me; it is more helpful and clear.

I would say YES, since I was in elementary my teacher told us that English is the universal language to communicate, I did not know why since I was still a kid, but as time goes by I already understand why and I would definitely agree with her because English is a 'business language"  at the same time English is also one of the most studies language all across the world, most of the countries teach it as a a second language from primary school.

Here's a perfect sample... I am an Asian and based from your name you might be an Arab (sorry I might be wrong) and maybe your native or local language is Arabic ( Sorry I might be wrong again) my native or local language is Tagalog... If you will speak Arabic and I speak in Tagalog we won't be able to communicate effectively, BUT if both of us used the "universal language" then we can definitely understand each other effectively.

I hope my answer helps :)

Yes, research tells us it's the widely used and because we've become a global village learning English is then a prerequisite especially if you've got to interact with the world. Learning is a process an ever ending one and learning it is part of learning.
