Where do the great ideas come from in your organization? How do you encourage creative thinking within your organization?

Right, the ideas come anywhere and everywhere.

Continual thinking of operation by long supervision and monitoring raise the good ideas. So the people in direct contact to the work stations (sometimes simple workers) have the best practical and saving ideas of the procedures.

Innovative ideas generally and practically comes from small things and visions. The eye to catch a differenent logic in a continue process leads to innovation.

They can come from anywhere and everywhere.

They can come from:

1 - Outside the organization.

2 - People in administrative roles.

3 - People in middle management.

4 - Even from senior management.

I would say there are different sources for such great ideas ... they may come from inside from within the organization itself, they may come from your customers and markets, from your suppliers and even from your competitors in some cases .  They may come from think-tanks within the organization or from within the industry, economy or nation ..   They may come from market research, surveys and studies, suggestions and ideas, brainstorming sessions, ...
