Before giving answer let me define these two terms.
Intrinsically means from inside, affected by inner factors. Just like one feel happy to teach or exploring new ideas are fun for someone.
Extrinsically is opposite to it. It means motivated by external factors. For instance good salary can fascinate someone to teach or calamity in an area can motivate some person to become a social worker.
I believe that I'm motivated as a teacher intrinsically as well as extrinsically.
Hello,I'm sorry I was away for more than one month due to having an operation but I feel better now.I think that most teachers are intrinsically motivated in the middle east as there is no extrinsic motivation .They are not paid well.I'm talking about those who talk the mother tongue of these countries.I think that we are lucky as we are still motivated.
Intrinsically motivated infers that one is not open to change/diversity and can thus be dull and boring in class
Whilst extrinsically motivated suggests that the teacher is open to change/diversity and encourages class interaction.
One's approach to teaching/learning also indicates to possible employers the potentialities of the candidates
ideally the teacher should demonstrate both motivational characteristics
Yes i am extrinsically motivated teach in my special area.
