How popular are the diesel cars in the Middle East?

Diesel cars are too much of choice in middle east but heavy earth moving equipment runs on diesel engines as it neeeds better torque to do the job.

In the Middle East not popular

diesel engine is popular in meadle east especialy in heavy equipment because of better tourqe ,lower consumption ,diesel fuel have lower flammability.....

In middle east oil price is nothing compare to other countries and petrol & gasoline engines are very smooth to drive, eco friendly & fast pickup then the diesel engines, for power generation it is very compatible to use.

Diesel cars in middle east is not very popular specially in saudi arabia, because of the following reason, diesel engine has high level of exhaust smoke, diesel engine is slow moving than the gasoline engine.
Diesel engine are commonly used in mobile generators, power plant and vessels.

I have not personally been to the middle east, but based on climate, milage vs consumption and ease of engine maintenance I would have to say very popular!
