There are two kind of twisted pear cables: shielded and unshielded but where to use each one ?
STP cable will be used for underground cabling where cable is prone to outside large EMI. Also, used in underground cabling within the city, etc.
UTP cable will be used in controlled environment like data center, Building LAN, etc where EMI is less compared to other industrial places.
UTP cables are used for internal communications i.e. within an enterprise or firm.. whereas STP cables are used for open enviroment communication between two buildings..etc
