I think that CFO is responsible for every thing in his company .
In some companies the full role is given to CFO.
But in a large group of companies CFOconcentrates on what has already happened inside a company. They prepare financial statements and other reports based on past activity (of course based on accounting principles in place).
Treasurers focus outward adn interact with the bankders, shareholders and potential investors who provide capital, Also they manage investment securities portfolios.
