as a nurse working as a team collaboration and team work is very vital or important..open communication to each member should be present and they should talk altogether to plan the action care needed for the patient..it should be client focused and not self focused..they should be concise and organized in planning
As hospitals are complex centres, it requires health professionals to work as a team to ensure appropriate care is given to the patients. nurses in particular work closley with patients and health allies thus having good communication skills can assist and promote patient care whilst eliminate mistakes. preventing mistakes such as wrong patient I.D, medication, route and dose of medication and time. This miscommunication can be detrimental to health. Therefore it is a responsiblity of nurses to ensure there is excellent communication, verbally or written, to avoid such situations.
First let us understand the meaning of a team: In a team each member has a role to play so the team will achieve the goal (example: a football team one is a goal keeper, defenders and attackers). if one of the team members doesn't carry out his role the team will not win or will be defeated.
Therefore, each health care provider has a role, that's to say: a doctor shall diagnose and prescribe the treatment; the technicians (x-ray, lab) perform tests; pharmacists provide the medicines and check drugs interactions; dieticians teach and observe diet; other ancillary workers take care of environment, communication, delivery of items; etc. while the role of the nurse is very crucial as the nurse is the coordinator of the team work as nurses are at the center of the circle around the client and they are there24/24 near the patient who will observe, assess, report and provide care. So, the nurse is the executive captain of the team and the first to receive and the last to discharge the client.
Nurse Consider as Right hand Of Doctor .. Because in all cases the nurse give base line for doctor to help him in treatment of case by take vital signs and do a diagnostic procedure test such as ECG .. HP.. GC.. URINE test .......etc
Importance of nurse in health unit come from that no doctor can be do his jop without nurse bacause the nurse give him data and information about the case then doctor make his decisoin to deal with this case
nurse also monitor the patient before and during and after care and give doctor ongoing reports about case and care development and help doctor to evaluate the care plan
Finally.. we cant forget the role of nurse especially in Er unit by give primary health care for urgent case to save case stable up to doctor arrive to the case and treat it
