I'm not familiar that it's a condition to have a hotel degree in order to get a job in hotels.
I worked in a hotel with no hotel degree or previous experience and I did very well and was promoted after a year because I did well.
It's a matter of performance.
Also each hotel arranges orientations for new staff to explain their standards and rules no matter you have a degree in hotels or not

Definitely not, hotel operations is a well diverse mix of skills with some core required professional qualities ie ability to perform in a teamwork environment, the passion for the customer service field, ability to work under pressure etc…you will see that vast majority of these core competencies you can not learn at school and must be integrated within your own personality. The rest is a mere technical skills that any establishment should offer to their employees.
