most probabily due to the pathetic level oftheir English.perhaps they fear a too good English speaking person won't be able to communicate effectively with local students.

In the Middle East, the interviewers are not competent enough to select good teachers, so they bring these so called native speakers believing that they can teach English. They don't realize that even in Arabic there are good and bad speakers.
