is the internet the next int hing to replace contemporary radio and Television broadcasting technology?
Hi!
I think the cost effectiveness and reach-out would play the major role. and if this "take over" happens, it will not be shocking news.
Dear Mr. Justus,
The internet " Boom" is not something new that we are seeing . However in regions were the infrastructure is still in development ( like the MENA region) we still ask the question of whether the internet will soon replace traditional media broadcasting channels (TV & Radio). But a quick look at the western world shows us that major broadcasting companies like CNN and the BBC are shifting their strategies towards the "online revolution" as competitors like Netflix and Amazon Prime are gradually increasing their fan base and followers.
So in short : yes the internet will the next thing to replace contemporary radio and television broadcasting but in the long term.

Charbel Fayad
Radio and Television are going to continue (with some tough competition though) for some more time. There is still a VAST % of people (of different age groups) who prefer to be away from PC/Mobile devices. I would blame the "battery charging life" particularly for the "failure" of mobile technologies to replace a TV/Radio for a "live streaming experience".
In fact they are all going to go ahead hand-in-hand for atleast5+ yrs in my opinion.
There would be more corporate stuff being fed on the internet while TV would dominate "comedy/crime/movies sector and the Radio for songs/music.
I feel the necessary balance will be sought in the due course of time. "Internet of things" and "Internet of Everything" is catching up, so let's see how much progress is made in that direction. It takes time for a new technology to out-date an existing one. Imagine the investments gone in the existing distribution of TV (Dish / Antennas). Look around you and ask yourself - are Radio stations increasing every year and are they not giving a better "experience" then before. If all this is true - TV/Radio will enjoy their share for definitely5+ yrs ahead.
Current events will now be uploaded real time if you have the internet. You can even post a video taken by you so people can see it and be updated.Anytime and anywhere we can have streaming to know what has been going on and be aware not just in your own country but internationally. One of the disadvantages of seeing the news through internet is we don't know who or what to believe because some of it are just hoax. But the usual news on TV or Radio are being screened first before getting aired.
yes its because all the media, news ,sports, music and so which u got from TV and radio u can have them on the internet
plus the wide spread of online radio streams and tv streams are a reason too to be afraid from internet taking over
