How do you define Success? Is it Subjective or Objective? Your opinions matter

The word "success" is a part of our everyday life, but what does it really mean? Is it objective in terms of it being measured by achievements, degrees, awards, and promotions? Or is it subjective and everyone has their own definition for success and it is only yourself who can define success?

Success means to achieve the goals and objectives according to plan. It might be subjective.

Success is entirely subjective and was never under objective standards. In this world, there is no true definition of success. Only you yourself can define what success is. Some will see success as having a complete family, some will see it as having a decent job, some will also see success as living a simple life of happiness. It varies from any person, as long as you are happy with your life and what you are doing, it is already a success in disguise. You cannot rate success with the amount of money that you have, the position you are in, the size of your house, or the number of your cars. It all boils down to self-fullfilment and nothing and no one can measure that except YOU.

In my opinion, success is subjective; I define it as a journey towards your goal, whereas the goal is just a bonus. Along the way, you meet different people; you learn from them, they learn from you and sometimes fall in love. Along the way, you experience situations that test your character; you learn to be strong in the face of adversity, you learn to trust yourself, you learn to accept constructive criticism and you become wiser -- this for me is already a definition of success.

Success can mean a lot of things to different people. Success can mean attaining goals or reaching targets. It can also mean landing on a fine job. Success can also be attributed to finances. Success to other people is associated with happiness. Either way in all of these, success just like happiness is a state of mind. It is something intangible. Something existing only in the mind. Why? There are people who are already rich but are not happy. There are people who have reached their goals but still want to attain more. If they believed they are successful, then they should not have wanted more; they should be contented. It is with this too, that I can say that one is already successful when he/she is happy, even because of small things. The reason people do not think they are successful is they associate success with the amount of material things their hands can hold which depreciate in value or get damaged.

Success is a state of mind. If a goal is not met, are you successful? Yes, somehow, for there are several reasons we do not get what we want, we should always remember that there are things out of our hands. As long as we tried, as long as the people around us helped us get through, we are successful, because at least we tried. We may not have reached our goal, but that does not mean we are not successful, it's just that that project or the time is not ours. Michael Jordan of Chicago Bulls said something like "We never lost a game, we only ran out of time."
