An employee needs all the three from the manager at various levels. When he joins the organization he needs Coaching, the slowly and gradually comes the mentoring and finally the monitoring. However the story does not end there from time to time we all need these three basic stuffs from our managers and so dour managers from theirs. In commercial industry, initially coaching is required from the manager to polish the skills and then on later stages mentoring and monitoring should be done to promote at the managerial level.
