It is an action plan detailing the training, coaching, mentoring and business experiences required by the executive. This action plan is developed through an assessment of an individual executive's proposed career development path and the competencies that need to be developed as a consequence. It is not something "set in stone" but a flexible plan sensitive to changing organisational needs and successful demonstration of competencies in the work place.
